Travelogue 3: Bangkok!

6 Days and 5 nights in Bangkok!

We planned this trip during the starting of last semester. I was taking an afternoon nap, then that bitch got me to agree to go on this trip while I was still blur. Well what done is done. Booked air tickets and hotel. It was an air asia hotel so it was really really cheap. Kinda good for us as we are not earning much. We did not plan to stay that long in Bangkok but for the cheaper air tickets 6 days it is! We got advice from friends and family on how to travel in Bangkok. Practically just advice to Eunice on how to shop in Bangkok. Eunice told her parents about our trip and they wanted to tag along so they booked whatever that is necessary. Then Eunice planned the itinerary all by herself.

Day 1

I could not sleep the day before, this is one of my problem since young. Every now and then I have an event i look forward to, I cant get myself to sleep. Adrenaline rush?! Probably. I think I slept at 3am and woke up at 7am. I went to my computer and search for food that people say we should try in Thailand. Yeah last minute work, I know! When it is around 8, my mom dropped me to Eunice's house because we are going together with her parents. Eugene was the one driving us. We took off at 9 even though our flight was at 2+. Eugene had orientation for his degree and we had no other driver so yeah. We got to the airport quite early. And we started walking around KLIA 2. They had their breakfast at Papparich. 1 Nasi Lemak was RM 18 OMG!!! I did not eat because I had char siew pau when I was home. Eunice brought 2 camera 1 for pictures and 1 for video. She asked me to handle the video one. I was like Urgggghhhh!!! Really? I am already lazy enough now i have to handle one more thing. I started doing it reluctantly. Then it was time for us to board the plane.

I have always preferred carrying a bag pack rather than the trolley kind. Had that bag since I was young, and now it is broken everywhere and I am still holding on to it. We are not landing in the main Bangkok airport but the 2nd one or old one I guess.

It is Don Mueang! HAHAHA I was actually confused about how to pronounce it until I heard people announcing its name. Then we slowly enter the waiting area. I took a picture of us waiting for the gates to be opened.

Flying Time!!!

It only took 2 hours for us to reach Bangkok! The time zone is different. HAHAHA but I was feeling uncomfortable as the pressure made both my ears and head ache. Like I would rather chop off my ears, I have no idea why I could not pop it. While getting near the custom, there were loads of Chinaman, and as we all know how they are. Noisy and ignorant. The wonderful thing is I could not hear a thing because of the pressure in my ear. HAHAHA unfortunately it popped in a while, and GAWD!!! I feel like Superman, can hear every decibel from everywhere. Back to the main point, we got out of the airport. We saw Sim Cards shop right at the exit. They offer super cheap internet plan for 1 week without limit. No LIMIT!!! And for only 300 Baht. We bought one and put it in my Fonepad. Unfortunately, we had some complications with it. The sim card ended up in my phone. And my phone became a walking Hotspot. The complication got us off our schedule. We were way behind time. We used the internet we just got and requested UBER to get us to the hotel. Why?! Because taxis in Airports are bunch of butchers. They like chopping off tourists' wallets, charging them a tonne. When the Uber car reached, it is a Mazda 2!!! Super comfortable ride to the hotel!!!
On the way there, our result came out. I was panicking!!! But thank god! I passed all. Phew!!! We finally reached our hotel after 40 mins ride.

This is the main view of the hotel. Not really nice, but I am super satisfied with it.

The escalator connects the hotel with the local train system. Very convenient!

We then proceed to check in. And OMG I have not seen this kind of system in hotels for very very long. Since I was a kid maybe. But I was kinda amazed by it. Have a look.

Look at ALL the keys in their homes :P

Lobby!

Checking IN!

They upgraded our room!

Quite a nice room! With sofa some more!

Yeah....I was checking whether the air cond worked hehe :P

We then quickly took a 5 min rest then off we go. According to plan we were suppose to head to Asiatique. There we go taking the train system opposite our hotel!

After a few train changing session, we finally reach the Saphan Taksin. This is the place where we have to take a shuttle service to Asiatique. It was quite a long queue.

See the stall there? I suggested we buy orange juice because I was thirsty. The orange juice was great but it has an after taste. Apparently I think they put curry leaf into it. They have the curry leaf taste. Urgghhh I dont like it!!!

It is very very nice!!! A tourists spot no doubt, but all the lightings were amazing.

It is sort of a Harbour!

Loads of nice restaurants by the river! Great ambiance.

We then ran off to look for food. Because we were so hungry. But the restaurant I looked up was super pricey, so we chose another one instead. It has this guy who knows how to speak chinese. Made our ordering much much easier. It was no surprise to us because when we were buying the sim card, they spoke chinese as well. So we asked why some can speak chinese and some cant. His answer was shocking! He is from china. Working in Thailand. LOL i really didnt see that coming. Then our food came, eventhough it was spicy to me. I enjoyed it very very much.

Here is how it looks like.

Obviously anyone would go to the 2nd floor right :P

Such nice environment!

Face we make when we know food is coming!

Kangkung!

Infamous drink in Thailand!

 Deep Fried Squid!

You know what this is!

Vege!

Green curry!

Sweet and sour fish!

After eating we went for a walk. For Eunice, she wanted to start shopping. But the price was not as cheap as we thought. Like I said a tourist spot. But we still walked around like a typical tourist took a lot of nice pictures with the decos and lightings. Here it is :

After this we headed back to the hotel. We did not take train this time. But we UBER back. OMG this time it was a Chevrolet Sonic. It was so nice. And CHEAP! We got right to the door of our hotel. And we walked to our second home in Thailand this trip.

HAHAHA yeah yeah. We have been here every damn night before we go back to our room. Compulsory item back to room: Lays chips! We will shower and sit on the bed watching some thai dubbed shows with lays to call it a day!

Day 2

Woke up early today, just to walk again!!! Urggghhhh my legs are going to break!!! And what do you know, second day only. Haih :P Amazingly the itinerary, Eunice planned was all shopping complex! This time it was Terminal 21. They have a very nice concept where every floor has a different location as a theme. Super awesome. And the lobby has a very big board which stats what event is going on and where.

HAHAHA eventhough it is in Thai but still......

A very huge anchor in the mall!

Escalator entrance have not been so awesome before.

Caribbean here we come!!

This concept is throughout every floor. All also different theme different country. Even their toilet is different. The order of floor and the place decorated.
  1. Caribbean
  2. Paris
  3. Tokyo
  4. London
  5. Istanbul
  6. San Francisco

This is the decoration of the toilet on Tokyo floor! Super nice right :P

We then walked to the highest floor which is the food court and have our breakfast. It is not that pricey even though it is a tourist spot. Cheaper than Malaysia food court of course. After that, we took off to another place. Unicorn Cafe. We know the existence of this place from Facebook. And the place is not that bad because it has chairs to rest! HAHAHA it is tiring because of all the walking.

Unicorns everywhere!

KOed

Playing Clash Royale in Thailand. Apparently with that face, I am winning, no doubt. Probably 3 crowning!

Utensils with gems LOL

They have very nice toast bread as well.

After this, according to plan, we were suppose to go to Patpong Night Market. But we were way ahead of schedule. So we rested alot, in Unicorn Cafe. Then we started travelling to somewhere near the night market. Some how we walked into a local wet market. And you know what, shopping happened. So i just followed and look around. Best thing I saw there was the prawns. It is so big but selling at a very cheap price. I was standing there in front of the store staring at those prawns. HAHAHA almost buying some but I have no way to cook. After leaving that place we went into Silom Complex. The girls went into Daiso. Uncle and I was sitting at a bench near the shop. I fell asleep. Was very very exhausted. Unfortunately we were still very early. Then best thing happened. We spent an hour at a massage. Doing foot reflexology. For 250 Baht. They even included a short shoulder massage at the end of the session. Finally time has come for the night market. I was thinking that it is something like Pasar Malam in Malaysia but no!!! It can be closely compared to Petaling Street in Malaysia. Everything was super overpriced, and everything have to bargain for it. The sellers there are not even well mannered. Very rude in fact! beside the Patpong Market was bars and clubs. It was a night life location. People were approaching us with laminated menu. Apparently it is Prostitution. Got show some more like Pussy Ping Pong! I keep wondering what that is! But through the door we could see pole dancers dancing. Some were just standing on the stage tho. I bought 2 singlets there. Which to me was not worth it at all. The whole night market trip ended quick. We left for another night market which is located 3km away from our hotel. Uber there as well. This time a Toyota Altis picked us up.

The price here are all very cheap. Not even reasonable comparing to the previous night market. I bought a watch here. After a short walk, the market was closing. It was 10pm. We took too much time in Patpong i guess. And we did not expect this market to be so nice. This wasnt in the day 2 plan. HAHAHA after that, we walked a whole 3km back to our hotel. 3KM!!! Omg that was so suffering to me. HAHAHA i keep looking ahead to see whether I can spot our hotel or not. Finally we reached! And of course Family Mart first. Eunice and Dad ate instant noodles there.

Then we went to our rooms, and thats it!!!

Day 3

This day we woke up super early, 6 am just to make it to the Pratunam Morning Market. Apparently everything there is cheap I suppose. We got McDs on the way there, I ate roadside roast pork instead. It was delish!!!

It looks like this.

Luckily for me, I think we lost our directions in the market. The market seem very very small. HAHAHA lucky right :P We headed to Platinum Fashion Mall after that. Which is very very near. Walked there then I gave up. I told them Im just gonna sit somewhere and sleep while they shop. Luckily, uncle also liked that plan. He bought a cup of coffee and i get to sit at starbucks and take off to dreamland. I think i slept for 2 hours. Then, I went for a walk. I realised the mall was huge. And I decided to buy something too. But nothing caught my eye until I walk into a superhero shop. It is not cheap but if compared to what price u get in Malaysia. Yes it is very cheap. So i got myself 4 of them and went back to Starbucks. The girls came back in a while. They shopped for a total of 3 hours there. WOW!!! Then we took Tuk Tuk taxi to Siam Square.

We reached Siam Square and had a buffet lunch! Free flow from salad bar! Drinks as well!!! Practically we ate that to "recharge" ourselves HAHAHA.

Me posing with tummy after lunch!!! HAHAHA yeah I am clever enough to wear a UTAR shirt to Thailand. Oh and yes I bought a Superman Shirt. After that we took off back to hotel to rest, then night back to night market we went to last night (RamkhaengHeng night Market).

This time I was clever enough to wear a singlet here. HAHAHA. So huge right :P Oh and I got fatter throughout the trip. Okok coming back I bought some little stuff here and there, mainly food. Oh and I dont look good in front of camera so I always do stupid faces in front of it. You know to cover my flaws :P Eunice and my haul up till now :P

Oh yeah she has a thing for houndstooth! And I have no idea why :P

Day 4

Today is the most awaited day for this trip. Because it is a Saturday which means Chatuchak Weekend Market. Travelled by train to Mo Chit station and then you can walk there. Very convenient. The funny thing about the markets here, they have no rubbish bins. I keep buying water and food, after finishing them dont know where to throw. Therefore holding onto it like a idiot!!!

We went there for breakfast. And no the food is not nice here. Cost a bomb too! Not recommended to eat here. After that, shopping starts!!!

Coconut Ice cream is too damn Awesome!!!

송지효

Bought this lovely cap here. In running man, I like her alot. And Gary too. I like seeing the Monday couple together. This cap would cost me a lot if i would to buy it in KL. Best part is the name tag could be torn from the cap.

After that we went to Union Mall, for lunch!!! I went and eat McDs as I know they have pork in the menu. A die hard pork FAN!!!

Pork Burger!!!

After that, we sat around and shop a little to burn some time. Eunice bought some stuff. and it was time for dinner. We were kinda anticipating this dinner as they have durian buffet offered. We took Uber there. This time Honda Jazz. We reached.

Funny thing is we need to book our spot in order to eat. We did not. So we have to eat somewhere else. We ate at a local dim sum shop which is just soso.

This is nice!!!

Then we went back to our hotel. And I took a picture of my haul. HAHAHA all very cute one!!!

Cute Tees right :P

Day 5

Today was just me and eunice. We were planning to repeat what we did on day 4. Because we have some regrets on some buys and on some didnts. HAHAHA so we went to breakfast with her parents first. At the hotel lobby, It was a buffet!!! With BACON!!! OMG heaven is real.

Then we head off repeating Chatuchak!!! After shopping a while, we were tired, and we went for a massage again. This time it was cheaper, 200 Baht. I think its because we were abit off the main street of the Market.

And thats me staring down the camera. HAHAHA we then headed off to Union Mall again to get some stuff. And then McDs again. This time we ate rice. McYum. OMG it is like a nice dining place. When I ordered that dish, the waitress ask me "Pork, Chicken, Beef or fish?" Shit!!! When did McDs have choices for meat?! Oh and of course a Samurai Pork Burger!

Then hotel it is! We bumped into the parents on the way back. They were heading to Starbucks. We went up to our room but then the cleaners were cleaning, so we left our stuff and sat in the lobby. With parents. After that me and eunice, went into COMA state in the room ahahaha right till dinner time!!!. Then we started walking again!!! This time to look for dinner!!! We ended up in a local mall eating buffet shabu shabu!!!

We were so full yet again!!! But oh well since it is the last dinner in Bangkok, eat some nice and end it with a BANG right.

Day 6

This is the day we leave Bangkok. I was abit sad. But have to leave with a heavy heart I guess. So i woke up early pack my bag, and wash up getting ready. We all took our luggage and check out. We came with 3 big bags, leaving with 5 big bags. LOL!!! 20kgs of clothing. We then walk over to Subway to eat brekkie!!! They have Bacon Sub. I guess I am in love with pork hahaha.

After eating, we Uber to Airport. It was a Nissan Slyphy. Which luckily can fit so many big bags. HAHAHA and so we reached airport. We waited quite a while for the time we suppose to fly. and then

Bye Bye!!!
